Pre-game prep

That's right, folks! Game on - the neighbors to my left have all of their holiday lights on, wreaths up - stunning. The ones to my right - it is still Halloween. Scary!

This year it feels like I have been in the Delorean from Back to the Future - Thanksgiving is here again already. And I can feel the stress building!

Now is the time to take a deep breath, and chill for a minute. We can get everything done and not lose it. I promise!

Here are some tips to keep the stress at bay this holiday season:

1 Prepare and eat whole foods - yes you can do it! And the tips below will help -

Six tips for keeping it together when you don’t have time

  • Make a list

  • Go frozen or canned

  • Choose pre-prepped

  • Schedule a prep day

  • Try a smoothie

  • Make a healthy fast food choice

2 Sleep deeply and soundly

Set the stage 30 minutes before bed:

  • hot towel scrub*

  • no devices in the bedroom

  • visualize your deep, uninterrupted sleep

  • use melantonin or valerian, even warm milk

3 EXERCISE

See my facebook post about what 11 minutes a day can do - really!

4 Just say "NO"

Just Say it NO (repeat after me)

  • Be brief

  • Be honest

  • Be respectful

  • Be ready to repeat

Yep, these are my go-to methods to keep the crazies away this time of year. Don't take my word for it, try it yourself. And if you are intrigued about the Hot Towel Scrub* - email michelle@teeminghealth.com, Subject Line: SCRUB. You will be glad you did!

Happy Thanksgiving!
